Hello Everyone,
This week we are reading the whole "Charlotte's Web" book rather than just the piece in our Open Court reading text. We are also finishing up our addition and subtraction chapter in our math book. We finished learning about the 5-Cs of Arizona :) Our first book order is due tomorrow :) On Friday our current events are due. Students need to be prepared to share a summary of their article and explain what they have learned from the assignment.

We talked about 9/11 in class today. I gave them a little background about what happened that day. We talked about even though someone is different or believes in different things, it is no reason to treat that person differently.

I hope everyone has a fun and safe weekend. Remember we do not have school Monday. Tuesday we will continue reading "Sarah Plain and Tall" and start our new math chapter. The only think I am asking the students to do this weekend is read and practice their math facts/xtra math!

Need extra help in math? I will be passing out your student's own personal code and pin to a math website called xtra math. It is a web-based program to increase speed and accuracy in arithmetic. I would like your student to spend a few minutes each day practicing math on the computer with this program. I will be passing out a sheet that will get them started tomorrow :)
